5. Lubricants and auxiliary
materials
5.1

Forming gas 5

i
Only use forming gas 5 of the following compositi-
on: 5 % H2 (hydrogen), 95 % N2 (nitrogen).
!
Observe the safety data sheet for forming gas 5.
!
The person performing the test must have received
instructions in the handling of pressurized gases.
!
The test pressure must not exceed 9 bar.
!
Only use and store forming gas 5 containers in
well-ventilated spaces.
!
Check each new delivery for compliance with
the specified composition (5 % H2, 95 % N2).
Check the label on the gas canister.
!
Tampering with components relevant to safety
(e.g. pressure-reducing valves, safety valves)
may lead to severe accidents and personal injury
and is forbidden.
Affix/check warning
Affix the warning sticker on the composition
of forming gas 5 provided with the tester sets
0 986 610 561 and 0 986 610 541 to the side of the
test device 0 986 613 880 near the forming gas con-
tainer (see fig. 18, item 2).

Regularly check to ensure that the warning
sticker is not damaged. If the warning sticker is
damaged, replace it immediately.
5.2

Denoxtronic test solution

Denoxtronic test the solution consists of 99% di-
stilled water with 1% anti-corrosive agent P3-pre-
vox 7400. The solution can be mixed by the user or
purchased as a ready-to-use test solution.

Only use a mixture of P3-prevox 7400 (1%) and
distilled water (99%). It is impermissible to use
AdBlue or just water.

The test solution has a limited shelf life and
therefore needs to be replaced every eight weeks.

Dispose of the test solution in compliance with
regional disposal and environmental regulations

Maintenance

6.1 Check exhaust gas sampling hoses
All of the hose lines must be handled carefully and
checked before use. Hoses are to be replaced if che-
cking reveals the following damage:
R
Cracks, brittle areas, abrasion or blistering of the
hose jacket
R
Kinked exhaust gas sampling hose
R
Stiff union nuts or quick-release couplings
R
Deformed or damaged connection end of hose line
(sealing cone, plug-in nipple, etc.)
R
Leakage at hose fixture
R
Corrosion at hose fixture if strength is reduced as
a result

Damaged exhaust gas sampling hose lines must not
be repaired.
6.2 Calibrating the scale 0 986 610 838
i
The weight 0 986 610 839 must be used to calibrate
the scale.
Procedure:
1. Use <ON/TARE> to switch on the scale.
2. Press and hold <OFF> until the display shows
3. Release <OFF>. The display will show the value of
the required balance weight.
4. Place the balance weight 0 986 610 839 on the
center of the plate.
5. The display will briefly show
will switch off.
6. Remove the balance weight 0 986 610 839 from the
plate.

The calibration will be complete, and the scale will
be ready for operation again.

In case of a calibration error or incorrect balan-
ce wight, will appear on the display. Repeat

Check weight 0 986 610 839

Have the weight checked every two years by a recog-
nized workshop.
