4.11.3 Example

EtherNet/IP configuration for HBM weighing terminals with EtherNet/IP inter­
face and PLC.
The following steps describe a typical sequence for configuring a
communication between HBM weighing terminals and a PLC via EtherNet/IP:
Preparation of the weighing terminal
► Disconnect weighing terminal from power supply.
► Install EtherNet/IP module.
► Make a note of the MAC address on the EtherNet/IP module.
► Connect EtherNet/IP module to EtherNet/IP network using suitable cable.
- The EtherNet/IP module has an integrated switch, meaning that port 1
(P1) or port 2 (P2) can be used.
- Port 1 (P1) and port 2 (P2) are identical.
► Connect PC with PLC software to the same EtherNet/IP network.
► Connect PLC to the same EtherNet/IP network.
► Switch on the weighing terminal with the integrated EtherNet/IP module, the
PC and PLC.
► Configure and adjust the scale.
► In the Service menu, select "Fieldbus via EtherNet/IP".
- Service: Config\Config: Fieldbus\Fieldbus ETHERNET IP
- In this menu, set the Endians (Byte sequence) as required to Big or
Little.
► Assign IP address:
- The IP address of the EtherNet/IP module is set via BOOTP/DHCP and
not on the weighing terminal.
- Use the MAC address of the EtherNet/IP module.
- The factory setting of the EtherNet/IP module is DHCP mode.
