Connection of serial interfaces

RS232 or RS485 interfaces are optionally available for the WTX120.

Transfer lines connecting the serial interfaces must be installed so that induc­
tive and capacitive interference from other lines, machines or electrical devices
is ruled out. Interference on data transfer could result in delays or in the pro­
gram stopping.
To ensure optimal interference suppression of all injected frequencies, the
shield should be applied on both sides.
In the event of fluctuations in ground potential, a compensating current may
flow via the double-sided shield. In this case an additional equipotential bond­
ing line must be laid.
Important
Terminal designation: Some manufacturers of components with RS485 ports
designate the terminals differently. According to the standard, the TxD+ / RxD+
port is designated 'B' and the TxD– / RxD– port 'A'.
