• Do not start planing until the cutter shaft has reached
its required speed.
• Also make sure that the workpiece does not contain
any cables, ropes, cords or similar. Do not work on
wood that contains numerous knots or knotholes.
• Secure long workpieces against tilting at the end of
the planing process. E.g. use roller stands or similar
devices for this.
• It is strictly forbidden to remove chips or fragments
while the machine is running.
• Switch the product off immediately in the event of a
jam. Pull out the mains plug and remove the jammed
workpiece.
• Set the smallest cut size after each use to prevent
the risk of injury.
• Before connecting the machine, make certain that the da-
ta on the type plate matches with the mains power data.
m WARNING! Disconnect the mains plug from the
main power supply before any cleaning, adjustment,
maintenance or repair work!
• Check regularly that blades are firmly fixed in the cut-
ter shaft.
• Check the anti-kickback claws regularly for proper
functioning.
• Always wear eye protection.
• Never cut indentations, tenons or shapes.
• Prior to commissioning, all covers and safety devices
must be mounted correctly.
• The planer blade must be able to run freely.
m ATTENTION! The planer / thicknesser has been
specially designed for planing solid wood. High-alloy
blades are used for this. When thicknessing, the contact
surface of the workpiece must be flat.
• The product is equipped with overload protection to
protect the motor. In the event of an overload, the
product stops automatically. It can be switched on
again after about 10 minutes.
• An undervoltage relay is triggered in the event of a
power failure. This prevents the product from starting
up on its own as soon as power is restored. To switch
on again, the on/off switch must be pressed again.
• Use roller stands or similar devices when machining
long workpieces. This additional equipment is availa-
ble from specialist retailers. They must be placed on
the infeed and outfeed side of the planing machine.
The height setting must be such that the workpiece
can be fed horizontally into the product and removed
horizontally.

10.1 Jointer
10.1.1 Preparation for jointing (Fig. 13 - 15)
1.
Adjust the parallel stop (3) outwards far enough so
that it does not interfere.
2.
Release the knurled screw (15.1) and fold the chip
ejection cover (15) downwards.
3.
Move the left and right locking lever (1.1) outwards
and place on the discharge table (1). Both pins on
the housing must grip in the bottom slots of the
discharge table guide.
4.
Fasten the discharge table (1) with both locking
levers (1.1). The locking lever (1.1) must be com-
pletely closed otherwise the limit switch is not trig-
gered and the product does not switch itself off.
5.
Move the thicknesser table (6) all the way down
with the crank handle (17).
6.
Place the suction hood (7) on the thicknesser ta-
ble (6) and place the bracket (7.1) from the suction
hood (7) in the holder on the thicknesser table (6).
7.
Crank the thicknesser table (6) upwards carefully
until the suction hood (7) is fixed in place.
8.
If necessary, connect a suitable dust extraction
system to the extraction port of the suction hood
(7).
- Air volume ≥ 550 m
- Negative pressure ≥740 Pa;
- Air speed ≥ 20 m/s.
9.
Attention! Starting up without a dust extraction
system is only possible:
- outdoors;
- if only a few chips are produced;
- with a dust protection mask.
10. Cover the cutter shaft (2) with the cutter shaft cov-
er (14).
10.1.2 Jointing of workpieces (Fig. 16 - 19)
1.
Stand facing the product.
2.
Adjust the parallel stop (3) using the clamping le-
ver for angle adjustment (3.1) and clamping lever
for stop width (3.2) as desired.
3.
Adjust the chip take-off using the height adjust-
ment (5) as desired.
Attention! The maximum chip take-off of 3 mm can
only be utilised:
- with very sharp planer blades;
- with soft woods;
- if the maximum workpiece width is not used.
4.
Place the workpiece on the parallel stop (3).
