Verbrennungen infolge fehlerhafter
Applikation der Neutralelektrode
Bei falscher oder fehlender Applikation der
Neutralelektrode besteht ein hohes Risiko einer
thermischen Gewebeschädigung sowohl an der
Applikationsstelle der Neutralelektrode wie auch an
anderen Körperstellen des Patienten. Bei der Appli-
kation von Neutralelektroden ist deshalb unbedingt
darauf zu achten, dass die effektive Kontakt äche
bzw. der Übergangsleitwert zwischen Neutralelek-
trode und Patient der verwendeten HF-Leistung
bzw. der Intensität des HF-Stromes adäquat ist.
Mit effektiver Kontakt äche ist hier die Fläche der
Neutralelektrode gemeint, die während der HF-
Chirurgie elektrisch leitfähigen Kontakt zur Haut des
Patienten hat.
Bei der Auswahl der Neutralelektrode sind folgende
Erfahrungswerte mit zu berücksichtigen:

WARNUNG: Die Neutralelektrode muss
sorgfältig in der Nähe des Operations feldes
auf gut durchblutetem, rasiertem Gewebe
angelegt werden.

the neutral electrode
With incorrect or no application of the neutral
electrode, there is a high risk of thermal tissue dam-
age both at the point of application of the neutral
electrode and at other points of the patient's body.
When applying neutral electrodes, it is therefore
imperative that care be taken to ensure that the
effective contact area or conductance between the
neutral electrode and the patient is adequate for the
HF power used or the intensity of the HF current.
Here, effective contact area refers to the area of the
neutral electrode in electroconductive contact with
the patient's skin during HF surgery.
When selecting the neutral electrode, take the
following empirical values into account:
