8.2.10 Replacing the strainer

Sediments in the strainer primarily arise because
the CRI/CRIN or piezo CRI was not cleaned properly
or at all before testing.

The strainers are installed in the hose assemblies
of the injection chamber (Fig. 4, item 9) and in the
hose assemblies for the return quantity
(Fig. 9, item 1), (Fig. 10) and (Fig. 14).
1. Remove the plug-in hose nipple (Fig. 43, item 5)
from the hose assembly (Fig. 43, item 1).
2. Remove and discard the strainer (Fig. 43, item 3).
3. Clean both threaded joints (Fig. 43, item 2 and 5)
with clean test oil.
4. Check the O-ring (Fig. 43, item 4). Replace the
O-ring if it is defective.
5. Insert a new strainer in the correct position in the
plug-in hose nipple (Fig. 43, item 5).
6. Screw the hose assembly (Fig. 43, item 1) onto the
plug-in hose nipple (Fig. 43, item 5) and tighten by
hand.

Disassembly

Only change the air filter with the maintenance unit
without pressure.
1. Switch off the compressed air.
2. Remove the compressed-air line from the mainte-
nance unit.
3. Remove the condensate vessel (Fig. 44, item 1). To
do this, push down the lock (Fig. 44, item 2), turn
the condensate vessel (Fig. 44, item 1) and pull it
downwards.
4. Turn the filter assembly (Fig. 44, item 3) in the
condensate vessel by 45° and remove it from the
condensate vessel.
5. Turn the deflector plate (Fig. 44, item 4) on the bot-
tom of the filter element and remove it.
6. Pull the filter element (Fig. 44, item 5) off the de-
flector (Fig. 44, item 6).
