Press the measurement sensor so that the flat part is in contact with
the tread, pushing the probe into the sensor (see Fig. 48c).
To obtain a precise reading, the flat part of the sensor must be placed at right angles as far as possible to the point to
be measured.
-The tread depth is indicated on the display in millimetres and in
inches (see Fig. 48d).
-The background changes colour to immediately indicate the status
of conformity to the highway code,in relation to the thickness
measured:
White tyre in good condition, tread depth > 4 mm.
Orange tyre in moderate condition, tread depth between 3.9 mm and
2 mm.
Yellow tyre approaching wear limit, replacement recommended, tread
depth between 1.6 mm and 1.9 mm.
Red tyre must be replaced, tread depth < 1.6 mm.
.Press the button (see Fig. 48d) to exit the TREAD DEPTH SENSOR function and return to the main screen.
