(7) Cleaning of Air Cleaner (not included in the
basic
engine)
The air cleaner is one of the most important parts and has a
direct influence on the engine output. Periodically clean it
and exchange air cleaner element.
• Cleaning of air cleaner cover
1) Do not allow dust to cover more than half of the inner
space of the air cleaner cover.
2) Mount the air cleaner cover with the mark "TOP
til
up.
• Cleaning of air cleaner element
1) Remove the air cleaner cover and wing bolt.
2) Lifting the air cleaner element slightlY', take out it.
3) Remove dust by shaking the element or blowing compre$s­
ed air into the element. (Air pressure must be less than
686kPa (7kg/cm
2
1OOpsi).}
Do not blow air on the outside of the element.
• Removal of stains by carbon or oil
1) Immerse the dirty element in the solution of KUBOTA's
genuine element cleaning agent (Agent of 15g (33 Ibs) to
water of 1Q (0.88Imp'qts, 1.06 U.S. qts)) for about 15
minutes and then wash it splashingly.
2) Wash the element carefully in clean water. The water
pressure must be less than 27.5kPa (2.8kgf/cm
2
,
39.8psi).
3) Swish water from the element and put it in a well­
ventilated place for natural seasoning. When time is
short, use an electric fan or drier. Do not apply heat from
the drier directly to the element.
4) After drying the element well, check for damage inside
the element by using a light.
5) When exchanging the element, also replace the packing.
(Note)
• The element is of dry type. Do not use oil on it.
