Testing Operating Temperature of Thermostat
1) Place a thermostat and a thermometer in water and heat
the water.
2) Check to see if the thermostat begins to open at 80.5 to
83.5°C (176.9 to 182.3°F).
3) Check to see if the thermostat opens fully around 95°C
(203°F).
4)
If the measurement is defective, replace the thermostat.

Checking and Adjusting Fan Belt Tension
1) Check to see if the belt tension allows a depression of the
specified amount when the belt is pressed down by a
finger midway between the fan drive pulley and the
dynamo pulley.
2) Adjust the tension by moving the dynamo.
