Label calibration

The Alpha Entry has a calibration function for importing the label length automatically. It is
then possible to advance labels with a high repeat accuracy.

On successful completion, the green status LED remains lit.
If the calibration process fails, the labeler switches to fault mode. Repeat the procedure and
try changing the position of the label sensor (see instructions on page 33).
If the label has not advanced far enough or has advanced too far, the label position may

have to be adjusted (see below).

Label position

The label position is the position at which the subsequent label stops after a single feed op-

eration. The label position can be adjusted using a parameter value. The reference point is
the label sensor, which is usually mounted 20mm before the end of the peeler plate.
This value is normally preset ex works. Changes can be entered in the optional HMI display
or sent to the optional USB interface (see page 37).

Step Approach
1 If the Alpha Entry is not ready for operation, press the [Start] button on sys-
tems with an HMI display.
Entanglement hazard! Keep away from driven parts.
During the calibration process, the system will feed labels, which will need to
be manually removed. Stuck-together labels may cause malfunctions.
