"I/O" interface

The I/O interface is used to connect a control unit provided by the customer (PLC). The unit
is connected via an 8-pin M12 flange socket.
PIN 4 is not used for external triggering, but has the same function as the [Start] button on
the HMI panel. Labeling mode is activated and error messages are acknowledged by a sig-
IT nal (factory setting).

If labeling mode is stopped by the remote signal or the signal is parametrised with an
alternating start/stop function, a service technician must set parameter 002 to 9 (stop)
or 25 (start/stop) in the configuration menu. (factory setting = 17).

The Alpha Entry can be fitted with an optional HMI display.
The display consists of an LCD display and 5 buttons, as well as
2 status LEDs. It includes a connection cable with a 5-pin M12
industrial jack.
Connect the cable on the display to the "Display" connection (see
Fig. 6-6, no. 1).

Alternatively, the Alpha Entry can be fitted with an optional HMI
panel.
The feed rate can be adjusted using the left controller and the
label position in relation to the peeler plate can be adjusted using
the right controller. The HMI panel also has 4 buttons and 2 sta-
tus LEDs.
Connect the cable on the panel to the "Display" connection (see
Fig. 6-8: HMI panel
