11 Error Causes and Remedies
11.1 Optical displays
Position and allocation of the LEDs have to be taken from the enclosed pin assignment. Indicator
states and flash rates see chapter Bus status display on page 90.
11.1.1 Link- / Activity - LED
green
Cause
Voltage supply absent or too low
Connector plug not correctly wired or screwed on
OFF
No bus connection
Hardware error, measuring system defective
Measuring system ready for operation, connection
Flickering
to master established, data transfer active.
Measuring system ready for operation, connection
ON
to master established, no data transfer.
11.1.2 Net Err - LED
red
Cause
OFF
No error, measuring system ready for operation
- Limit value of the temperature is exceeded
- Communication error or critical application error
ON
- Measuring system error which is reported via error
register 0x1001 respectively via alarm object
0x6503.
Double Flash
An application watchdog timeout has occurred.
Slave has changed the EtherCAT state
Single Flash
autonomously, due to local error.
Blinking
General configuration error.
Booting error was detected even if INIT state was
Flickering
reached.

Remedies
Check wiring and connector plug for correct fitting

- Check voltage supply, wiring
- Is the voltage supply in the permissible range?
- Analyze error register 0x1001 respectively alarm
object 0x6503, see chapter "Measuring system
errors" on page 141.
- Operate measuring system in the permissible
temperature range.
- Perform hardware reset.
- If the error recurs despite these measures, the
measuring system must be replaced.
- Perform hardware reset.
- If the error recurs despite this measure, the
measuring system must be replaced.
- Check wiring to the EtherCAT master.
- Perform hardware reset at the measuring
system. If the error remains existing, execute
system startup with another EtherCAT master.
- If the error recurs despite these measures, the
corresponding component must be replaced.
- Check wiring and configuration of the EtherCAT-
Master.
- Shut-off measuring system voltage then switch
on again. If the error recurs despite this
measure, the measuring system must be
replaced.
