The motorbike is equipped with a hydraulic telescopic fork
with separate extension and compression adjustment for
the shock-absorbers' braking:
The RH rod works in extension while the LH one in
A
compression.
Although the two rods work in different ways, their internal
components are similar and therefore disassembly,
overhauling and reassembly are carried out following the
same procedures; accordingly, the below described
procedures apply to both the rods.
WARNING
During the following procedures, the rods and
their internal components must be locked in a
vice. Take great care not to damage them by
overtightening; always use aluminium jaw
coverings
Removal:
•
Place the motorbike on a stable support so that the
front wheel is raised from the ground;
•
Remove the brake calipers as described in chapter 4,
section F, without disconnecting the oil tubings;
•
Remove the front mud-guard as described in chapter
2, sectionE;

Remove the front wheel as described in chapter 1,
section F;
•
Loosen screws "A" on the half-handlebar;
•
Loosen screw "B" on the steering head;
•
Loosen the two screws "C" on the steering base;
•
Slide out the rod by pulling it downwards and turning it
first in one direction and then in the opposite one;

Disassembly:
•
Drain all the oil from the rod as described in chapter 2,
sectionD. Having drained the oil, the rod is
disassembled into different parts which need to be
overhauled.
