General safety instructions on the unit

DANGER OF EXPLOSION!
Do not erect the unit in areas with a risk of explosion, where the air is highly
infl ammable or where there is a possibility of the air becoming fl ammable
(anaesthetic mixtures, etc.).
CAUTION!
Before using the unit, check the mains power cable and plug for damage.
If they are damaged, do not connect the unit to the mains.

Safety information for charger / battery / hand piece

ELECTRIC SHOCK!

Never use the Translux Power Blue charger to charge other battery types
or other units with a rechargeable battery! Use only original batteries from

Heraeus Kulzer.
CAUTION!
Keep the battery out of the reach of children! Never open, puncture or crush
the battery – it contains poisonous substances.
DANGER OF EXPLOSION!
Never burn the battery or expose to high temperatures! Never short circuit
the end elements of the battery – risk of burns, fi re and explosion!
CAUTION!
The charging contacts of the hand piece must not be short circuited!
Remove all jewellery on the hands (rings, bracelets, chains) before operating
the hand piece! Risk of short circuit or burning.
CAUTION!
For charching the battery, use the battery charger from Heraeus Kulzer
exclusively. Never attempt to change the battery with regular charges.
Risk of explosion and fi re!
3.2.4

Safety instructions for cleaning

CAUTION!
Prior to all treatment, all new or repaired units must be cleaned, disinfected
and (if autoclavable) sterilised in strict compliance with the instructions listed
in paragraph 8 (Cleaning, disinfection, sterilisation).
CAUTION!
To make treatment as safe as possible for patients and operators,
the fi bre optic and the protective guard must be cleaned, disinfected
and sterilised before all treatment. The instructions listed in paragraph 8
(Cleaning, disinfection, sterilisation) must be observed to the letter.
CAUTION!
Charger and hand piece are not protected against penetrating fl uids.
Cleaning and disinfection must only be carried out using a damp cloth.
Prevent drop formation. The hand piece must never be immersed in a fl uid
when carrying out the above-mentioned work or autoclaved (sterilised)
together with the light rod. Risk of unit destruction! Please adhere to the
instructions in paragraph 8 (Cleaning, disinfection, sterilisation).
