Allow the disinfectant time to dry before using the hand piece again or before
inserting it into the charger. It is particularly important to ensure that the
electric contacts are completely dry.
NOTE!
Some alcohol-based disinfectants can damage the plastic material on the
housing. Adhere to the application instructions!
8.4 Cleaning, disinfecting and sterilisation of the fi bre optic
CAUTION!
Do not use pointed or sharp objects to clean the fi bre optic!
Proceed as follows:
1 Remove any polymerised composite material residues from the surface
of the fi bre optic with alcohol.
2 Disinfect the surface of the hand piece with a cloth wetted with a suitable
non-aggressive cleaning or disinfecting agent.
3 Allow the fi bre optic time to dry.
4 Seal the fi bre optic in a disposal sleeve.
5 Sterilise the fi bre optic in autoclaves for 20 minutes at a maximum temperature
of 135°C (275°F).
