Cleaning and disinfecting the charger jacket

DISCONNECTION FROM MAINS!
Pull the charger plug from the socket before cleaning and disinfecting
the unit.
CAUTION!
The charger jacket has no protection against liquid penetration!
For this reason, do not spray liquids directly onto the surface and the electric
contacts of the charger. Cleaning and disinfection must only be carried out
using a damp cloth.
NOTE!
The charger cannot be sterilised. Do not use a steam jet or similar when

cleaning, do not immerse in liquids. Risk of damage!
The following steps must be carried out after every treatment:

1 Remove the hand piece from the charger.

Cleaning and disinfecting the hand piece

CAUTION!
Charger and hand piece are not protected against penetrating fl uids.
Cleaning and disinfection must only be carried out using a damp cloth.
Prevent drop formation. The hand piece must never be immersed in fl u-
id when carrying out the above-mentioned work or autoclaved (sterilised)
together with the light rod. Risk of unit destruction! Please adhere to the
instructions in Chapter 8 (Cleaning, disinfection, sterilisation).
CAUTION!
The charging contacts of the hand piece must not be short circuited!
Remove all jewellery on the hands (rings, bracelets, chains) before operating
the hand piece! Risk of short circuit or burning.
NOTE!
The hand piece cannot be sterilised!
Do not use a steam blaster or similar for cleaning. Risk of damage!
The following steps must be carried out after every treatment:
1 Remove the fi bre optic and the protective guard from the hand piece.
2 Clean and disinfect the surface of the hand piece with a cloth wetted with
non-aggressive cleaning or disinfecting agent. Follow the instructions of the
disinfectant manufacturer exactly. Allow the disinfectant time to dry before
connecting the charger back to the mains. It is particularly important to ensu-
re that the electric contacts are completely dry.
