Faults and their causes

10.1

Troubleshooting

If the unit malfunctions, please read the Operating Instructions through once again and
check the following table:
FAULT
The charger does not
switch on
(no LED is light up).

The yellow LED on the
charger is fl ashing.
The yellow LED on the
charger is fl ashing.
The button on the Translux
Power Blue is pressed and
there is no exposure, but
an acoustic signal sounds
(2 beeps).
At the end of the exposure
cycle, an acoustic signal
sounds (2 beeps).
During the exposure cycle,
an acoustic signal
(3 beeps) sounds and,
at the end of the cycle, the
Translux Power Blue per-
mits no further treatment.
The polymerisation is
insuffi cient.
CAUTION!
If a fault cannot be eliminated, please contact the domestic Heraeus Kulzer
facility. For further information see www.heraeus-dental.com. Unauthorised
modifi cations to the unit involve hidden dangers and are impermissible.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

The mains power cable is
not correctly connected.
The mains power cable is
damaged.
The charger is not working.
The contacts of the charger
have short circuited.
The battery is defective.
The battery is empty.
The battery is at minimum
level.
The overheating protection
system was activated.
The end of the fi bre optic
is contaminated. Fibre optic
is inserted incorrect.
Light transmission of the
fi bre optic became poor
due to aging.
REMEDY
Connect the cable to the charger
and plug socket.
Replace the mains power cable.
Please get in touch with the
authorised Customer Service or
Heraeus Kulzer.
See paragraph 7.5 (The yellow LED
on the charger fl ashes).
Avoid short-circuit.
Please get in touch with the
authorised Customer Service or
Heraeus Kulzer.
Recharge the battery
(see paragraph 6.3.1 New battery:
initial charging).
Recharge the battery
(see paragraph 6.3.1 New battery:
initial charging).
Clean charger contacts
(see paragraph 10.2 Instructions to
clean charging contacts).
A further exposure is only possible
after the unit has cooled down.
See paragraph 8.4 (Cleaning,
disinfecting and sterilisation of the
fi bre optic).
