Cleaning/replacing hydraulic tank
ventilation
– Unscrew hydraulic tank ventilation
(75) from hydraulic oil filler neck.
– Clean the hydraulic tank ventilation.
IMPORTANT If dirt cannot be cleaned
sufficiently, replace hydraulic
tank ventilation.

12.13 Electrical system

Check the battery condition, acid level and acid density

Battery acid is highly corrosive. Therefore, prevent contact with battery acid
at all costs. Rinse with water immediately if battery acid comes into contact
with clothing, skin or eyes. If acid comes into contact with eyes, seek medical
attention immediately! Neutralize spilled battery acid immediately!
– Check battery housing (78) for
cracks and acid leakages.
– Remove oxidation residues on the
battery poles (76).
– Grease battery poles with acid-free
grease.
– Check acid level.
Acid must be between the upper and
lower indicators.
– Unfasten and remove the battery
caps (77).
– Add distilled water to the upper
indicator if necessary.
– Check the acid density with an acid
siphon.
The acid density in a sufficiently charged battery is 2.7lbs / 1.24 to 2.8 lbs/1.28 kg/l.
– Charge battery if necessary.
– Screw battery cap back on.
NOTICE You are not required to check the acid level or acid density in batteries if
operating under low maintenance requirements.
