General operation of the industrial truck

The operator must carry out the following checks: Before every shift and before
starting up the industrial truck, its condition must be inspected; this applies in
particular to the following components:
– Condition of the tires;
– Measurement of the tire pressure in the case of pneumatic tires;
– Warning and safety devices;
– Protective devices;
– Lighting;
– Battery;
– Controls;
– Lift and tilt systems;
– Load-transport attachments;
– Chains and ropes;
– Limit switches;
– Brakes;
– Ground lock(s) or wheel lock(s);
– Steering;
– Fuel system(s);
– Trailer hitches;
– Accessories or special tools that were provided by the owner and/or manufacturer;
If it is determined that the industrial truck needs repair, is unsafe or can no longer be
guaranteed to run safely, the person authorized by the owner must be notified
immediately. Only after safe operation has been reestablished may the industrial
truck be put back into service.
If safety defects come to light during operation, the person authorized by the owner

Repairs and adjustments can be made if the appropriate permission has been
granted.
Refueling has to occur with the engine shut off and the operator must leave the
industrial truck while this is going on.
Shaken oil or fuel must carefully and completely be removed or evaporate; close the
tank cover before you restart the engine.
If you have been asked to charge the starter battery on the industrial truck, check that
the battery acid level is correct and that air can circulate freely before connecting the
charger to the power source.
While checking the electrolyte level of the starter battery, the fuel level in the fuel tank
or the condition in the liquefied petroleum gas lines and connections, open flame is
prohibited.
