Engine maintenance TFG 420s-430s

Replacing engine oil and filter
IMPORTANT Only replace engine oil when it
is at operating temperature
and when the vehicle is in a
horizontal
replace the engine oil and filter
together.
Drain engine oil
– Unscrew cap (26).
– Clean oil drain plug (27) and around
the drain hole thoroughly.
– Unscrew oil drain plug and drain oil
into a suitable container.

Caution: risk of scalding from
the hot oil.
– Screw oil drain plug on again with a
new seal.

Properly dispose of used oil.
Replacing engine oil filter
– Loosen oil filter (28) with a filter
wrench and unscrew by hand.

Collect draining oil; properly
dispose of oil filter and oil.
– Clean seal surfaces and oil filter
flange thoroughly.
– Lightly oil new filter seal with fresh
engine oil.
– Screw on oil filter by hand.
Fill engine oil
– Fill fresh engine oil into the opening
according to operating resources
table (see Section 8).
Fill quantity: 1.25 gal / 4.73l
– Check oil level with dipstick (29),
correct if necessary (see Chapter 8,
Section 2).
– Screw cap back on.
– Reinsert dipstick completely.
