Software
Installing software and drivers
1. Ensure you have Administration rights and privileges to the computer.
2. Insert SmartLink CD in the computer's CD-ROM drive.
3. Follow SmartLink Setup Wizard instructions.
4. While logged in as Administrator, launch the application from the desktop icon.
5. If prompted to allow the application to pass through the firewall, select ALLOW.

Setting up study records
1. On the Patient table in the SmartLink software, click the 'New Patient' button.
2. Complete patient information and click SAVE.
3. When the Assign Device? prompt appears, select YES.
4. Select 'New Device' in the Select a Device menu.
5. Enter the serial number for the new device and click SAVE. A message will appear saying, Device created successfully.
6. In the Study Details screen, modify or accept the default settings in the Therapy Settings tab, the Device Settings tab and, for the AutoAdjust device
only, the Respiratory Event Detection tab.
7. Click SAVE.
8. You will be prompted to transfer the settings to a data card, select 'OK' to proceed or 'Cancel' to verify that you will manually update device settings.

Hardware

Installing the module
1. Align the module's primary data connector and its three locking tabs with the circular connector and the three locking recesses on the CPAP .
2. Press the module into the back of the CPAP until the module audibly clicks into a locked position.
Installing the data card in the module
1. Insert the data card into the slot on the top of the module until it is fully seated.
Installing the card reader and data card
1. Insert the USB connector on the card reader into the USB port on the computer.
2. Insert the card into the slot on the card reader.

Data transfer

transferring from CPAP to software
1. Insert a data card into the slot on the top of the SmartLink™ Module until it is fully seated.
2. The CPAP will display one of the following messages while it attempts to transfer data:

Card Detected, Please Wait...
•
Card Detected, Ready for Use
becomes available.
•
Card Error, Contact Provider
3. After the transfer attempt, the CPAP will display one the following messages:
• Card Transfer, Successful
to the card. The data card can be removed or it can remain in the module to collect new therapy data as it becomes available from the CPAP .
If you are removing the card from the module, press down on the data card to release it from the slot—the CPAP will display Card
Removed, Send to Provider.

4. Attach a card reader to the computer running SmartLink software.
5. Insert the data card holding the new therapy data into the card reader.
6. One of two prompts will appear in the software: Create a new study...? or Upload new data? Follow software instructions for your
chosen prompt. Data will download automatically.
