Study Records

Study records hold patient records, device records, and pertinent study information such as therapy parameters and results. Therapy parameters can be
added or modified in the study record at any time. A study begins by assigning a device to a patient.
Study records are assigned a status as follows:
• new Study status is assigned to all studies until they receive their first successful transfer of therapy data from the CPAP .
• Study in Process status is assigned to studies after the first successful data transfer. The study will remain in this status until the software receives
a data transfer after the 'Length of Study' expired.
• Study Complete status is assigned to studies when therapy data is received with dates indicating that the information was collected after the
'Length of Study' had expired.

–The study record will continue to accept transfers of therapy data while in Study Complete status.
Creating a Study Record using EXIStInG Patients and Devices
1. Select 'All Patients' in the Patients menu and find the chosen patient in the table.

–You can click the column headings to sort the table. This may allow you to find specific patients more easily.
2. Select 'Assign Device' in the Options menu.
3. In the first Study Details window, click the 'Select a Device' drop-down menu and either:
a. Select [New Device] and enter the serial number for the new device OR
b. Select the serial number of an existing device
4. In the next Study Details screen, modify or accept the default settings in the Therapy Settings tab, the Device Settings tab and, for the AutoAdjust
device only, the Respiratory Event Detection tab. Views of these study tabs and their default settings are available in the Appendix.
5. Click SAVE.
6. When prompted to insert a data card to transfer settings to the CPAP:
a. Select OK to copy the settings to the data card for transfer to the CPAP through the SmartLink Module. – OR –
b. Select 'Cancel' and configure the CPAP settings manually.
