Patient Records
Creating a Patient Record
Patient records hold a variety of useful information about the patient such as contact, payor, and physician information. You can create a patient record
as part of a new study or as a stand alone record that can be used in a study later.
1.
Select 'All Patients' in the Patients menu; then click the [New Patient] button.

Complete patient information and click SAVE. A view of the patient information form is available in the Appendix.
notE:
You can create a record using only the patient's first and last name. Additional information can be added to the record at any time.

When the Assign Device? prompt appears,
•
If you are creating a stand-alone record, click NO to finish.
•
If you are setting up a new study, select YES to proceed; continue with Step 4.

In the first Study Details window, click the 'Select a Device' menu and continue with one of the following options:
•
Select [New Device] and enter the serial number for the new device OR
•
Select the serial number of the device to be used in the study

Click SAVE. A message will appear saying, Device created successfully.

In the next Study Details screen, modify or accept the default settings in the Therapy Settings tab, the Device Settings tab and, for the AutoAdjust
device only, the Respiratory Event Detection tab. Views of these study tabs and their default settings are available in the Appendix.
7.
Click SAVE.
8.
When prompted to insert a data card to transfer the study settings to the CPAP:
•
Select Cancel to configure the CPAP settings manually.
•
Select OK to copy the study settings to the data card for transfer to the CPAP through the SmartLink Module.
notE
– A study's status is listed as New Study until the first therapy data transfers from the CPAP to the software; then the status changes to
Study in Process. More information on study status is available in
Managing Records / Study Records.
