Collecting therapy Data

When a SmartLink module is connected to an IntelliPAP or SleepCube, therapy data is automatically collected and stored in the module. This data
includes information such as CPAP usage and oximetry if available. If the module is connected to an AutoAdjust model, it also collects information on
CPAP pressures, leak, AHI, and respiratory events. Data collected in the module is transferred to the SmartLink software via a data card.
When you create a Patient Record, Device Record, or Study Record in the SmartLink software, the data is stored in the database. The data includes
information that identifies the patient, device, and particular study parameters. Data transferred from the SmartLink module via a data card is added to
this database.

Storing therapy Data

The SmartLink module has a rolling buffer capable of storing three years of usage hours, 120 nights of detailed performance, and 72 hours of oximetry
data. When a data card is installed in the module, the module copies its information to the data card. The module does not erase data after a transfer to
the data card; instead it stores all information collected from the CPAP until its buffer is full, then it begins to drop its oldest data to make space for new
data.
The software stores information in a database. Information that is or has ever been associated with a study record cannot be deleted from the database.
Patient and device records that were never assigned to study records can be deleted from the software database.

transferring Data

Data transfer from the CPAP to a Data Card
When the SmartLink module detects a data card, the module completes the following actions:
The module scans the card for any changes to the therapy settings that might have been sent from the software. If changes are present, the module
transfers new settings to the CPAP .
The module checks its stored data against any data that may be on the card from previous transfers. If the module has new data, it is copied to the
data card and the CPAP notifies the user that the transfer was successful.
The data card can be removed from the module after this transfer and sent to the clinician/provider for transfer to the patient's study record
OR
The data card can be kept in the module and removed at a later date.
Data transfer from the Data Card to the Software
When the software detects a data card in an attached card reader, the software prompts you to complete the following actions:
If the data card contains data from a CPAP that is not recognized as part of a study record, the
YES to complete the new study setup and transfer the data from the card to the study record.
