Templates
Templates can optionally be used to determine the optimal plate design and as an aid to bend the plate.

Pl a ce the template over the area where plate coverage is desired, ensuring a minimum of three s crews i n each segment. If
des ired cut the template to the correct size.
The template may a lso be used to aid in contouring the plate to match the bone surface. The template i s malleable and may be
di gitally s haped to the bone contour.
CB3 bending pliers
Special bending pliers are available to bend the L1 rib plates. Two bending pliers must always be used:

Us i ng the bending pliers with the s crew hole etching facing up, contour the plate to ma tch the template. The CB3 Bending Pl iers
ha ve been specially designed to retain the s urface curvature and protect hole integrity while bending.
Ca uti on: If contouring i s necessary, a void sharp bends, reverse bends, or bending the implant a t a s crew hole. Avoi d notching or
s cra tching the implant. These factors may produce internal stresses which may become the focal point for eventual breakage of
the i mplant.
