L1 Rib
Instructions for Use
Possible risk of injury to the patient due to the use of Drill-Free-Screws.
In very small and thin bone fragments, the use of Drill-Free-Screws is not recommended because the
fragments may be pushed away by the pressure of the screw tip. Additionally, in very dense bone, the
application of the Drill-Free-Screw is not optimal because the screw tip may slip off the bone during
insertion and it may be difficult for the screw to fully engage the bone. In these cases, it is recommended
that the appropriate size pilot hole (Ø 1.5 mm) be drilled prior to screw insertion.
A fixed-angle screw with a diameter of 2.3 mm and a length of 7 mm is available to fix the L1 rib plates.

Safe monocortical osteosynthesis is made possible with a single screw length due to the CB3 (Convergent
Biaxial Fixation) technology. The blocking and the biaxial converging tapered screws ensure sufficient
stability even when monocortical. Bicortical fixing is therefore not necessary.
