II.5.5.1
Instructions for repair and component
replacement
• If any of the refrigerating circuit components need replacing, it is
necessary to bear in mind the instructions in the following paragraphs.
• Always refer to the wiring diagrams enclosed with the appliance
when replacing electrically powered components. Always take care to
clearly label each wire before disconnecting, in order to avoid making
mistakes later when re-connecting.
• When the machine is started up again, always go through the
recommended start-up procedure.
• After carrying out any maintenance work, keep an eye on the liquid-
moisture sight-glass (LUE). After the appliance has been running for at
least 12 hours the cooling circuit must be completely "dry" and the LUE
must be green, otherwise replace the filter.
II.5.5.2
Top-up / replacement of refrigerant charge
○ The units are factory tested with the correct gas charge. When
replacing or topping up the charge, take account of the ambient and
working conditions of the machine.
○ When the unit is running in cooling mode, the refrigerant may be
topped up on the low pressure branch, upstream of the evaporator,
using the pressure connections provided. Make sure that the additional
refrigerant is in a liquid state to avoid changing the composition.
○ While topping up, watch the liquid indicator to make sure the liquid is
completely clear without any bubbles whatsoever.
○ After maintenance operations on the refrigerant circuit and before
refilling with a new gas charge, wash the system thoroughly and:
• install an anti-acid filter on the compressor inlet side, then run the
unit for at least 24 hours;
• check the degree of acidity, if necessary change the refrigerant gas
and the oil and then run the unit for at least a further 24 hours.
• remove the anti-acid filter cartridge.
If during the test phase the pressure on the low pressure gauges
remains below 0 bar without the low pressure switch cutting in, switch
off the unit immediately, by pressing the ON/OFF key on the control
board, and replace the component.
II.6
DISMANTLING THE UNIT – DISPOSAL OF
HAZARDOUS COMPONENTS/SUBSTANCES
ENVIRONMENTAL SAFEGUARD!
RHOSS cares about protecting the environment.
When the unit is dismantled it is important to
adhere scrupulously to the following procedures
○ It is advisable that the dismantling of the unit is performed by a
company authorised to collect products/machines in
obsolescence.
○ The unit as a whole is composed of materials considered as
secondary raw materials and the following conditions must be
observed:
• the compressor oil must be removed, recovered and delivered to a
body authorized to collect exhausted oil;
• refrigerant gas may not be discharged into the atmosphere. It should
instead be recovered by means of homologated devices, stored in
suitable cylinders and delivered to a company authorised for the
collection;
• the filter/drier and electronic components (electrolytic capacitors) are
to be considered special waste and as such they must be delivered to a
company authorised for the collection;
• the insulating material in expanded polyurethane rubber covering the
water exchanger and sound insulating foam which lines the cabinet
must be removed and treated as if they were urban refuse.
