SECTION II: INSTALLATION AND
MAINTENANCE
IMPORTANT!
The unit will only function correctly if the
instructions for use are scrupulously followed, if
the clearances are complied with during installation
and if the operating restrictions indicated
hereunder are strictly adhered to.

DESCRIPTION OF THE UNITS

II.1.1

FEATURES

○ Load-bearing structure in galvanized sheet metal, epoxy powder
painted, with inside of compressor compartment covered in
soundproofing material.
○ The THCE units are complete with tubs and condensation discharge.
○ Scroll-type rotary hermetic compressors, with capacity controls as
shown in the following table
Model
Compressors/N° of steps
130÷160
270
○ Plate type heat-exchangers in stainless steel with closed-cell
expanded polyurethane foam insulation.
○ Differential pressure switch to protect the unit if the water flow stops..
○ Male-threaded hydraulic connections.
○ Air cooled exchanger coil with copper tubes expanded into
aluminium fins.
○ Electric centrifugal fans with external motor and belt transmission
with adjustable pulley.
○ Horizontal condensation air delivery (aspiration side).
○ Phase monitoring to protect the compressor motor.
○ Refrigerant circuit with mild copper tubes and silver alloy welding.
Complete with: filter/drier, charging attachments, high and low pressure
switch, humidity liquid indicator, thermostatic expansion valve, pressure
transducer (for THCE), non-return filter (for THCE), liquid recipient (for
THCE).
○ Unit charged with ecological R407C refrigerant.
II.1.1.1
Features of the electrical panel
○ Electrical panel (IP 55) accessible from side panel (ref. 4, Fig. 6) in
compliance with IEC standards. Waterproof box supplied with special
key and complete with:
• electrical wiring for the 400V-3ph+N-50Hz power supply;
• auxiliary power supply: 230V-1ph-50Hz;
• control power supply: 12V-1ph-50Hz;
• power contactors;
• power supply isolator switch (ref. 2, Fig. 6), complete with door
interlock;
• magnetothermic switches for each compressor and fan;
• automatic cut-out switch to protect auxiliary power circuit;
• remotable unit control.
○ Programmable microprocessor electronic board regulated with the
keyboard built into the units. This electronic board controls the following
functions:
• adjustment and management of inlet/outlet water temperature
settings; safety delays; hour meters for each compressor; automatic
inversion of compressor start up sequences, defrosting cycles, (on
THCE); circulation or service pump; electronic antifreeze protection; the
functions controlling the working intervention modes of each device
constituting the appliance.
• complete protection of the unit, automatic emergency shutdown and
display of the alarms which have been activated;
• visual indication of the programmed set points via the display; of the
in/out water temperature via the display; of the alarms via the display; of
the devices in operation via LEDs; and of cooling/heat-pump operating
mode via LED;
• self-diagnosis with continuous monitoring of the functioning of the
unit.
○ Advanced functions:
• configured for RS485 serial interface connection with building
management systems, centralised control systems and supervision
networks;
• computer-assisted testing of the units.

ASDP/150) integrated in the unit complete with: electric circulation
pump, inertial storage tank, expansion tank, system gauge, safety and
venting valve, water discharge and 300W antifreeze heating valve in the
tank.
The electric pump is available in single configuration (ASP/...) or double
configuration (ASDP/...), of which one is a manually inserted standby,
and in 4 sizes especially matched to the TCCE and THCE.
The inertial storage tanks are either 80 or 150 liters depending on
wheteher the model is TCCE or THCE.
○ PUMP – the unit can be equipped with a maximum of 3 electric
pumps. The possible choices are the following:
• P – single electric pump for the primary circuit;
• DP – double electric pump for the primary circuit of which one is a
manually inserted standby;
• P/PU – single electric pump for the secondary circuit matched to a
single electric pump for the primary circuit;
• DP/PU – single electric pump for the secondary circuit matched with
a double electric pump for the primary circuit of which one is a manually
inserted standby;
• P/DPU – double electrical pump for the secondary circuit, of which
one is a manually inserted standby and matched with a single electric
pump for the primary circuit.
All electrical pumps have electrical and plumbing connections to
the TCCE and THCE units.
