No espresso runs out during the
brewing process, or only drop by
drop. This increases the brewing
pressure to up to 16 bar and extends
the extraction time to over 60
seconds.

The display shows "E5".
During the brewing process, the
espresso runs out too quickly or too
slowly.
The portafilter does not lock into
place on the device.
Water is leaking from the water
tank.
The water tank is not
inserted correctly.
There is too little or
no water in the water
tank.
The water filter is
blocked.
The outlet on the
brewing unit is blocked.
The filter basket is
blocked.
Incorrect filter basket
(blind filter) was used.
The set coffee powder
grain size is too fine
or there is too much
coffee powder in the
filter basket.
The coffee powder was
tamped too firmly.
There is a problem with
the water system or the
device is defective.
There are several
reasons for this, e.g.
wrong water quantity,
wrong grind setting,
etc.
The filter basket is filled
with too much coffee
powder.
The filter basket is not
inserted correctly in the
portafilter.
The water tank is not
inserted correctly.

Ensure that the water tank is inserted
correctly, press down lightly if
necessary.
Fill the water tank up to the "MAX"
mark.
Replace the water filter and reinsert it
correctly.
Clean the brewing unit as described in
the chapter "Cleaning and Care".
Clean the filter basket as described in
the chapter "Cleaning and Care".
Use the 1 or 2-cup filter basket.
Set the grind setting higher. If
necessary, use less coffee powder.
Use less force when tamping (approx.
10 – 15 kg).
Carry out a descaling or, if necessary, a
cleaning process.
If the problem remains, switch off the
device immediately and disconnect it
from the mains. Contact an authorized
service center.
Read the chapter "The Perfect Espresso"
and follow all the recommended
settings.
Ensure that the correct filter basket
is used for the desired amount of
coffee powder. Pay attention to the
recommended amount of coffee
powder for the 1 or 2-cup filter basket.
Ensure that the filter basket is properly
inserted into the portafilter.
Ensure that the water tank is inserted
correctly, press down lightly if
necessary.
