The water filter cannot be overtightened as

the installation tool is equipped with over-
tightening protection.
Follow the safety instructions and the operat-

ing instructions for the water filter.
8.2| CLEANING THE WATER TANK
Clean the water tank (A) without water filter
regularly with a soft cloth and some mild deter-
gent. Then rinse and dry it carefully.
8.3| CLEANING THE COFFEE BEAN
CONTAINER
The coffee beans can leave oily stains in the
container, which may affect the aroma of your
coffee. Therefore, clean the coffee bean con-
tainer with lid (B) regularly with a soft cloth
and some mild detergent. Then rinse and dry
them carefully.
8.4| CLEANING THE STEAM LANCE
Clean the steam lance (K) after every milk
frothing so that no milk residue remains in and
on the steam lance. Proceed as follows:
1| Point the steam lance towards the drip tray
(N) or hold another container underneath it.
2| Activate the steam for approx. 5 seconds
(steam button).
3| Wipe the steam lance with a damp clean-
ing cloth.
WARNING
Risk of burns!
The steam lance is hot! Take care not to
burn yourself!
If no steam is emitted, proceed as follows:
1| Remove the nozzle from the steam lance (K).
2| Clean the nozzle under running water with
a soft cloth and some mild detergent. Then
rinse and dry it carefully.
3| If the three openings in the nozzle are
blocked, clean them with the cleaning
needle.
CAUTION
Risk of injury!
Use the needle with caution to avoid
injury!
4| Point the steam lance (K) without nozzle
towards the drip tray (N) or hold another
container underneath it.
5| Activate the steam for approx. 5 seconds
(steam button).
6| Wipe the steam lance with a damp clean-
ing cloth.
7| Reattach the nozzle to the steam lance.
8| Point the steam lance (K) towards the drip
tray (N) or hold another container under-
neath it and activate the steam for approx. 5
seconds (steam button) one last time.
8.5| CLEANING THE FILTER BASKETS
Clean the filter basket after every espresso so
that no coffee powder remains in the filter bas-
ket. Proceed as follows:
