Four drives can be connected for each control unit.
Only drives of the same version must be used for
all control units (exception: drive group manage-
ment

If only one drive is connected to the control
unit, the cable must always be connected to
drive slot M1. Otherwise, the drive will not be
detected by the control unit.
Connect the cable of the first drive (Fig. 20/1) to drive slot
M1.
If there are multiple drives, the following con-
figuration of drive slots is possible:
– Two drives: M1 + M2 or M1 + M3
– Three drives:
M1 + M2 + M3 or M1 + M3 + M4
– Four drives: M1 + M2 + M3 + M4
If the configuration is different, the drives will
not be detected by the control unit.
If there are multiple drives, connect the cables of further
drives (Fig. 20/2) to the respective drive slots M2 - M4 as per
the configuration options above.
