2.3.1 Fundamental hazards

Any application other than or which extends beyond the intended
use is considered misuse.

WARNING!
Danger in the event of misuse!
Misuse of the control unit can lead to hazardous
situations.
– Never use the control unit or its modules in
potentially explosive areas.
– Never use the control unit outdoors.
– Never operate the control unit outside of the
specifications indicated in
nical data" on page 222.
– Never operate the control unit outside of the
ambient conditions indicated in
"Conditions at the installation site" on page 149.
– Never operate the control unit with any drives
other than those listed as compatible drives in
Ä Chapter 3.4 "Drives" on page 141.
– Never operate the control unit in case of any
damage to the mains supply cable, housing,
motor cable, hand switch or other control
cables.
– Never operate the control unit when the housing
is open.
– Never convert or retrofit the control unit or its
modules to change the area of application or the
usability.
CAUTION!
Tripping hazard as a result of exposed cables!
If the cables on the control unit are not routed
properly, there is a risk of injury if persons trip or
fall over them.
– Route cables safely and properly so that tripping
hazards are prevented.
