5.2 Manufacturer-specific error analysis
The measuring system provides a manufacturer-specific diagnostic message in the
case of error. As this can generate several hundred error codes, the error code must
be sent to TR-Electronic for analysis.
In the SIEMENS configuration software SIMATIC Manager the manufacturer-specific
diagnostic message could be read out via the HW Config. This is unfortunately no
longer possible in the SIEMENS configuration software TIA Portal. A manufacturer
error block is therefore created to undertake this function.
The manufacturer-specific diagnosis is read out from the measuring system via an
asynchronous read access and shows the manufacturer-specific error. In order to
address the measuring system for the asynchronous read access, for a SIMATIC
1500 controller, the hardware identifier of the measuring system must be specified. To
do this, the measuring system must first be opened in the Device view of the work
area. Now mark the entry cdx75x-epn in the Device overview. Then select the
Properties tab under the Device view in the Inspector window. The hardware
identifiers are displayed in the System constants tab. The HW identifier for
cdx75x-epn~Head is to be used. For the example project this is the hardware
identifier 262.
For a SIMATIC 300/400 controller, the manufacturer error block must be slightly
modified. The hardware identifier is not specified for the asynchronous read access,
but the lowest address of the input and output data of the measuring system. For the
example project this would be address 0. There is a specific example with modified
manufacturer error block for the SIMATIC 300/400 controller.
