2. If engine case is excessively greasy,
apply degreaser w i t h a paint brush. Do
not apply degreaser t o chain, sprockets,
or wheel axles.
3. Rinse d i r t and degreaser o f f w i t h garden
hose, using o n l y enough hose pressure
t o do the j o b . Excessive hose pressure
may cause water seepage and contamina-
t i o n of wheel bearings, f r o n t forks, and
transmission seals. Many expensive
repair bills have resulted f r o m improper
high pressure detergent applications such
as those available in coin-operations car
washes.
4 . Once the m a j o r i t y o f the d i r t has been
hosed o f f , wash all surfaces w i t h w a r m
water and m i l d , detergent-type soap.
A n old t o o t h brush or b o t t l e brush is
handy t o reach hard-to-get-to places.
