2. Mechanical adjustment
To second adjustment is located behind
the adjusting cover. Removing the cover
will expose the adjusting set screw and
locknut. Loosen the l o c k n u t , rotate the
set screw in until it lightly seats against a
clutch push rod t h a t works w i t h the set
screw t o operate the c l u t c h . Back the
set screw o u t 1/4 t u r n and tighten the
locknut. This adjustment must be
checked because heat and clutch wear
will affect this free play, possibly enough
t o cause incomplete clutch Operation.
Recheck coutch cable adjustment at
handlebar after adjusting.
