12.4 Telegram selection

For configuration of the process data the relevant modules must be inserted in the
slots provided. Which modules must be inserted depends on the process data
configuration defined in the encoTRive (see chapter 5.2).
In the following example it is assumed that the object directory in the encoTRive is in
default status and thus corresponds to the process data configuration as per standard
telegram 100 (see chapter 5.2).
In this case the module Enco Std. Telegram 100 must be inserted in slot 1 (see
Figure 28: Incorporating encoTRive into the network).
The automatically allocated input and output addresses can be retrospectively
changed if necessary via the Properties dialog.
At free PZD or free telegram configuration, i.e., if no standard telegram is selected,
at first the outputs and then the inputs must be put into places of insertion (slots)
first.

12.5 Initial commissioning, manual control with the variables table

It is recommended that the encoTRive be controlled manually for initial
commissioning. This can be achieved with the help of the variables table in the S7
Manager. This makes it possible to read and write the parameters directly from the
encoTRive.
