7 Faults and warnings

The encoTRive offers various options for system analysis. In addition to the direct
status display via the LEDs on the housing cover, a detailed diagnosis can be carried
out by reading out specific parameters.
Faults and warnings are differentiated according to the PROFIdrive profile.

7.1 Faults

Faults are internal error states of the encoTRive, which cause a reaction: The
encoTRive decelerates as quickly as possible during operation and then goes into
"Fault" status (SA11). Bit 3 is then set in P968 "Status word". The detailed error cause
can be read from parameter P947.
Parameter 947 "Errors/Faults" is executed as an array and comprises 64 indices. A
fault memory with 8 faults or errors with 8 indices each is therefore available for the
relevant fault numbers. The first fault number indicates the cause that triggered the
error. The following entries in indices 1-7 indicate any consequential errors and are
less important.
If a fault contains the value 0 in the position of fault number 1 in the array index, no
further error information follows.

Faults must be acknowledged in P967 "Control word" after elimination of the error
causes. However, the cause must be eliminated first of all. After successful
acknowledgement the entries are moved back by 8 indices and bit 3 is reset to the
value 0 in P968 "Status word".
