12.2 Allocation of the PROFINET device name

For unique identification within a network, a PROFINET device must be allocated a
device name. To do this, proceed as follows:
● Connect the encoTRive directly to the Ethernet interface of the configuration PC
(e.g. PG).
● Set the interface via the dialog Options --> Set PG/PC Interface...
● In the STEP7 main menu PLC select Edit Ethernet Node...
● Press the Browse... button

An overview of the nodes available in the network then appears:

After highlighting the desired node, you can edit it. With encoTRive highlighted, you
can use the Flash button to force both red LEDs on the housing to flash. This
simplifies the localization of the relevant node in the field.
