6.5 Travel range and reference point coordinates

The limitation for the maximum travel range is defined via the 32-bit value range and
the measurable number of revolutions of the integrated absolute position measuring
system.
As the parameter measurable number of revolutions is not recorded on the
type plate, it must be determined via the parameters revolutions and reduction.
This data is generally provided to the customer with the order/order confirmation.
Measurable numbers of revolutions supported by the position measuring system are:
1. Value = 4079, if revolutions * reduction = 4096
2. Value = 65472, if revolutions * reduction = 65536
These conditions give rise to the danger of undesirable overshoots of the position
measuring system during positioning mode, in certain circumstances.
To prevent this danger, the encoTRive checks the responsible parameters during
parameterization. As these are dependent on each other, the permissible value
ranges are dynamically adapted in the encoTRive.

The following factors must also be taken into account:
● Factory setting: software limit switches are at maximum values (Maximum travel
range)
● Note parameterization sequence, i.e. no range overruns must occur during
sequential writing of the above parameters.
● The reference point is always considered as the mid-point of the maximum travel
range for the drive.
