Fuel filter
m NOTICE
Never use the saw without a fuel filter. The fuel fil-

placed if damaged. Empty the fuel tank completely
before replacing the filter.
1. Ensure that the stop switch is set to stop (0).
2. Remove the top cover and the spark plug con-

3. Remove the tank lid (fig. 21 / item K).
4. Bend a soft wire into shape.
5. Insert it into the fuel tank's opening and hook it
onto the fuel hose. Pull the fuel hose carefully to-
wards the opening until you can grasp it with your
fingers.
m NOTICE
Do not pull the hose out of the tank completely.
6. Lift the filter out of the tank.
7. Turn and remove the filter, and clean it. (If it is
damaged, dispose of the filter and replace it with
a new one.)
8. Place the end of the cleaned or new filter on the
fuel hose. Insert one end of the filter into the tank
opening. Ensure that the filter is located in the
bottom corner of the tank. If necessary, use a
long screwdriver to move the filter into the correct
position but ensure that you do not damage it.
9. Fill the tank with a fresh mixture of fuel and oil.
See the "Fuel and oil" section.
Put the fuel tank lid back on.
Spark plug (fig. 24b)
m NOTICE
In order to ensure that the chainsaw motor remains
efficient, the spark plug must be clean and have the
correct electrode gap (0.6 mm). The spark plug must
be cleaned or replaced every 20 operating hours.
1.
Set the stop switch to stop (0).
2.
Remove the top cover.
3.
Remove the spark plug connector (fig. 15 / item
D) from the spark plug (E) by pulling and turning
it at the same time (fig. 15).
4.

Carburettor and idle speed settings
m NOTICE
Only authorised customer service locations may
make adjustments to the carburettor.
Maintaining the bar (fig. 25)
The bar (the guide rail for the chain and teeth) must
be oiled on a regular basis without exceptions. The
maintenance to the bar described in the following
section is required to ensure optimum saw perfor-
mance.
m NOTICE
The teeth on a new saw were oiled in advance in the
factory. If you do not oil the bar's teeth as described
below, performance is reduced and seizures occur,
rendering the manufacturer's warranty invalid.
Oiling the teeth
If the saw is used intensively, the bar's teeth (Z2)
must be oiled regularly (once per week).
To do this, first clean the 2 mm hole at the tip of the
bar (Z1) and then press a small amount of multi-pur-
pose grease into it.
Multi-purpose grease and grease guns are available
from specialist shops.
m NOTICE
The saw chain does not have to be removed to oil the
bar's teeth. Oiling can be carried out when working
with the motor switched off.
