To charge the batteries, proceed as follows:
1. Switch off the control unit of the C1000 DS power
wheelchair.
2. Open the cover on the charging receptacle. The charg-
ing receptacle is integrated into the right-hand steering
motor moulding (see Figure 25).
3. Connect the plug of the battery charger to the charging
receptacle on the power wheelchair.
4. Connect the battery charger to a wall socket and turn it
on. Charging starts automatically. The battery capacity
can be monitored using the LEDs on the charger.
After the charging process is complete, turn off the charger
as follows:
5. First disconnect the battery charger from the mains
supply. Then disconnect the charging plug.
6. Close the charging receptacle cover to protect it
against moisture.
7. Turn on the control unit. The power wheelchair is now
ready for operation.

6.6.3 Removing the battery cover

Proceed as follows:
1. Loosen the two knurled head screws on the left and
right of the drive unit sustainer.
2. Remove the battery cover by pulling it forward.
