Foreword

These instructions for use provide the user as well as his or
her attendants with all the required knowledge on the de-
sign, function, operation and maintenance of the C1000 DS
power wheelchair from Otto Bock Mobility Solutions GmbH.
The instructions contain all the information that is needed to
use the power wheelchair safely, to determine the possible
causes of a malfunction and to help eliminate it.
C1000 DS
Knowledge of these instructions for use is absolutely neces-
sary for the safe operation of the power wheelchair. There-
fore, the user and his or her attendants must read the in-
structions for use thoroughly, especially the section on
"Safety", before using the power wheelchair. This will en-
sure that all features of the power wheelchair can be utilised
to their full advantage.
1.2

Intended use

The C1000 DS power wheelchair is intended exclusively for
individual indoor and outdoor self-transportation by persons
with walking impediments or walking inabilities. The C1000 DS
power wheelchair may only be combined with the options
mentioned in these instructions for use. Otto Bock Mobility
Solutions GmbH assumes no liability for combinations with
medical devices and/or accessories from other manufacturers
outside of the modular system. The C1000 DS power wheel-
chair may be used for transportation by an attendant if the
corresponding optional special controls are installed.
Any other use is considered improper use. The manufacturer is
not liable for any personal injury or damage to property result-
ing from improper use; in such cases, the user has sole liability.
