Storage of the parameter data

The user data parameters are stored in the EEPROM
memory of the BIS U-4A7-IO-Link device. After a restart,
the parameters last used are applied. The Temporary User
Data and Diagnostic Data parameters are not saved and
are reset to their default values after a restart or reset.
If the IO-Link parameter server is activated on the IO-Link
master, parameterization takes place automatically when
devices are replaced.
If a BIS U-4A7-IO-Link device has to be
replaced in the plant, it must be ensured that
the correct parameter settings are programmed
in the new device.
For commissioning, see the guide for the IO-Link master.
BIS U-4A7 IO-Link devices use a process data buffer of
32 bytes each for input and output in the standard profile.

Process data

Two different profiles can be set:
– Standard profile with 32 bytes of process
data (input/output buffer)
– CCM profile with 17 byte input buffer and
16 byte output buffer
See the configuration guide for more
information.
The data exchange takes place via the process data,
which are mapped in the input and output buffer, or in a
memory field, depending on the control system used.
Depending on the selected profile, 17/32 bytes of input
data and 16/32 bytes of output data are used. The
assignment is described below. The byte addresses of the
process data buffer are referred to below as sub-
addresses. The subaddress 0x00 corresponds to the first
byte in the respective buffer.
Output/input buffer
The BIS U-4A7 provides two fields for transferring
commands and data between the BIS U-4A7 read/write
head and the controlling system:
Output buffer
Input buffer
These fields are embedded in the process data
transmission via the IO-Link master. As already described,
32 bytes of process data are transferred in each direction
in the standard profile. With the CCM profile, 16 bytes of
output buffer process data and 17 bytes of input buffer
process data are transferred.
