session flags to indicate whether a data carrier has already
been detected. This is done via the status of the session
flags (
/
). In this way, it is possible to
detected
not detected
control whether and when a data carrier that has already
been detected can be detected again. Different rules apply
to the four sessions (0...3) with regard to the transition
from the d

Changing the session in the UHF-Manager is
reserved for experts and is only recommended
if the default setting does not provide
satisfactory results. Detailed information on the
session flag can be found in the standard
according to EPCglobal

Trext (pilot tone – preamble)
Parameter-ID:
0x0084 – Subindex 6
UHF-Manager:
Menu: Device settings > Advanced
parameters... > RF settings
Data carriers responding to requests from the read/write
head prefix the data with a preamble that is used by the
read/write head for synchronization. In addition, a pilot
tone can be transmitted, which can improve
synchronization between the data carrier and the
processor unit in electromagnetically stressed
environments.

For reasons of process reliability, it is advisable
to leave the pilot tone switched on. In very
time-critical applications, switching off the pilot
tone may result in a slight time advantage.

Transmitting power on read (default)
Parameter-ID:

UHF-Manager:
Menu: Device settings > Parameters...
> Transmitting power
This parameter is used to define the transmitting power (in
dBm) emitted by the antenna, which the read/write head
sets after a reset or after switching on. The transmitting
power refers to read operations.
The desired power in quarter dBm is applied as the
parameter value.
Parameter value = P(dBm) × 4

Depending on the device variant, the
specifications for transmitting power are to be
understood as ERP (Equivalent Radiated
Power) or EIRP (Equivalent Isotropically
Radiated Power) values. The respective valid
information can be found in the information
sheet on conformity and approvals.
