Basic UHF
The AutoSetup parameter can be used to start the Auto
Setup or to read out the current status of the last Auto
Setup started. After a restart of the read/write head, the
value is 0.
When Auto Setup is completed successfully, the
parameters Transmitting power (0x0084 – Subindex 8 and
0x0085 – Subindex 1) and the parameter Autom. increase
of transmitting power on write (0x0084 Subindex 9) have
been adjusted.
The value read back means the following:
– 0: Auto-Setup not yet started or successfully
completed. A single tag was able to be reliably read
and written to on its own based on the power. All
parameters were set.
– Set to 1: Start Auto Setup.
– 1: Auto-Setup not yet completed.
– 2: Auto-Setup partially successful. Several tags were
able to be detected, the transmitting power 0x0084
– Subindex 8 and 0x0085 – Subindex 1 were set to be
able to detect and read at least one tag reliably.
– 3: Auto-Setup failed completely. No tag was found or it
could not be read. No parameters were changed.
– 4: Auto-Setup partially successful. A single tag was
able to be read reliably on its own based on the power,
but not written to. The following reasons are possible:
– Tag does not contain user data.
– Tags are read-only.
– The maximum power of the device is not sufficient to
write reliably.
The transmitting power 0x0084 – subindex 8 and
0x0085 – subindex 1 have been set to reliably detect
and read this tag.

The parameter Memory bank can be used to control the
memory area of the data carrier on which write/read
operations are executed.
Depending on the data carrier used, the memory areas of
RFU (Reserved), EPC, TID and USER are available.
If the memory area is changed over, the setting is retained
until it is changed again or the read/write head is reset.
