Slow cooking programme
Time:
Pressure level:
Preset
Keep-warm:
Delayed start:
Slow cooking allows food to be gently cooked for longer periods, often between 3 and 12 hours, at
temperatures below boiling point. This stops the food from burning. Stringy, hard meat cuts in particu-
lar achieve full flavour through braising with this programme. With this cooking programme, you
select the temperature (high or low) not pressure for the cooking process, because build-up of pressure
is prevented inside the oven chamber.
1. Proceed as described in the section "Preparing and switching on the appliance".
2. Fill up with liquid to at least the first mark on the scale inside the pan and put the food to be
cooked in the pan, before you start the programme.
Tip: To keep the typical and tasty roast aroma, use the braising or searing programme first.
Warning: Never operate the programme with an empty pan (6), to avoid overheating and fire.
Never overfill the pan. Always follow the scale and maximum quantities on the inside of the pan.
When cooking food that expands during the cooking process, e.g. rice or dried vegetables,
the cooker must not be filled more than half way.
Warning: This appliance is not to be used as a deep fryer. Depending on the cooking pro-
gramme, only use some tee spoons of oil for cooking.
This is particularly important if you are preparing dishes that froth, swell or spray during cooking.
Food can overcook and run into the appliance or block the valves. The appliance could overheat
and pressure escape explosively, leading to injury and material damage from hot steam and liquids.
3. Close the lid and ensure it is completely supported on the appliance. Turn the lid handle clockwise
as far as it will go. A beep signals that the lid is fully closed.
4. Proceed as described in the sections "Starting a cooking programme with individual settings" or
"Starting a cooking programme with preset values".
Note: Pressure levels and pressure reduction cannot be set in this programme.
Caution: The appliance gets hot. Risk of scalding from steam. Do not move the 8-in-1 multi-
functional cooker when it is under pressure. Do not touch the hot surfaces. Use the handle for
this. If necessary, use gloves. Never put your hands, arms or face over the appliance during its
operation or shortly afterwards, to avoid burns from steam, hot water or food.
