Starting a cooking programme with preset values
1. Proceed as described in the section "Preparing and switching on the appliance".
2. Please note the minimum quantities and instructions given in each cooking programme.
3. Press the rotary button (22). The
menu icon remains lit, the
icon flashes. Turn the rotary button to the desired cooking programme and press it again to
confirm the programme.
Note: With the EXIT button you can interrupt the current programming of the appliance and
start again. If there is no input into the appliance within 5 minutes, it automatically switches into
standby mode and the display shows "-- --".
4. Press the start/stop button. The light ring around the start/stop button and the icon for the
chosen cooking programme are lit. On the display, the
the preset time for the cooking programme is shown.
Warning: During the heating-up phase, regardless of the cooking programme, steam may
escape from the steam valve (1) and pressure bar (12). This is normal. The process means steam is
sometimes released by the steam valve. This is also normal. Never put your hands, arms or face
over the appliance during its operation or shortly afterwards, to avoid burns from steam, hot
water or food.
Caution! The appliance gets hot. Risk of scalding from steam. Do not move the 8-in-1 multi-
functional cooker when it is under pressure. Do not touch the hot surfaces. Use the handle
for this. If necessary, use gloves.
Note: You can also change the preset values/functions at any time during cooking, by pressing the
rotary button, turning it to select the desired function and changing it as described in the section
"Starting a cooking programme with individual settings".
5. 3 beeps sound when the cooking programme finishes. The
1 minute.
Note: After the end of a cooking programme, shake the appliance with the lid closed to destroy
any steam bubbles inside the pot.
Caution! Meat cooked in the skin (e.g. poultry, tongue) can form steam bubbles because of
the effect of the pressure. Do not pierce the skin while these bubbles are visible, as you could
scald yourself.
Note: By pressing any key, you can return to standby mode and the display shows "-- --".
6. In the programmes for pressure cooking, slow cooking, steaming and cooking rice and pulses, the
keep-warm function is automatically activated for 1 hour after the cooking programme finishes.
You can interrupt or cancel this function manually at any time. Once the time has elapsed, the
appliance switches automatically to standby mode. You can also stop this function manually at any
time by pressing the start/stop button.
Tip: We recommend dishes are kept warm for one hour, to preserve quality and taste.

With this programme, you can for example cook succulent roasts, tasty stews or soups with great
energy savings in a fraction of the time. The ingredients are cooked with less liquid in the sealed oven
chamber under higher pressure. The higher pressure increases the boiling point of the liquid inside the
pan, so the food is cooked up to 70% more quickly.
1. Proceed as described in the section "Preparing and switching on the appliance".
2. Fill up with liquid to at least the first mark on the scale inside the pan and put the food to be
cooked in the pan, before you start the programme.
Tip: To keep the typical and tasty roast aroma, use the braising or searing programme first.
Warning: Never operate the programme with an empty pan (6), to avoid overheating and fire.
Never overfill the pan. When cooking food that expands during the cooking process, e.g. rice
or dried vegetables, the cooker must not be filled more than half way.
Always follow the scale and maximum quantities on the inside of the pan.
Warning: This appliance is not to be used as a deep fryer. Depending on the cooking pro-
gramme, only use some tee spoons of oil for cooking.
This is particularly important if you are preparing dishes that froth, swell or spray during cooking.
Food can overcook and run into the appliance or block the valves. The appliance could overheat
and pressure escape explosively, leading to injury and material damage from hot steam and liquids.
3. Close the lid and ensure it is completely supported on the appliance. Turn the lid handle clockwise
as far as it will go. A beep signals that the lid is fully closed.
4. Proceed as described in the sections "Starting a cooking programme with individual settings" or
"Starting a cooking programme with preset values".
Caution: The appliance gets hot. Risk of scalding from steam. Do not move the 8-in-1 multi-
functional cooker when it is under pressure. Do not touch the hot surfaces. Use the handle for
this. If necessary, use gloves. Never put your hands, arms or face over the appliance during its
operation or shortly afterwards, to avoid burns from steam, hot water or food.
