▪ Always make sure before use that both valves (1, 2) and the pressure bar (12) in the lid are
completely free from residue and debris and are freely moveable. Carefully clean the valves and
pressure bar when required, as described in the "Cleaning and care" section.
▪ Regularly check the appliance's components and accessories, particularly the lid and mains cable,
for damage. Do not use if the appliance or its components are damaged or not working as expected
or the appliance overheats, leaks or has been exposed to excessive strain (e.g. a drop, shock, liquids
in the casing). In such cases, please have the appliance repaired via our customer services or an
authorised service centre.
▪ Never use the appliance in the oven. High temperatures can damage the handle, valves and safety
mechanisms. The appliance should only be used for its intended purpose, which is cooking food.
▪ Never overfill the pan (6). Always follow the scale and maximum quantities on the inside of
the pan. This is particularly important if you are preparing dishes that froth, swell or spray during
cooking. Food can overcook and run into the appliance or block the valves. The appliance could
overheat and pressure escape explosively, leading to injury and material damage from hot steam
and liquids.
When cooking food that expands during the cooking process, e.g. rice or dried vegetables,
the cooker must not be filled more than half way.
▪ Make sure that the outside of the pan, hotplate and temperature sensor in the oven chamber (7)
are clean and dry. Wipe any spilt food or liquid with a soft, dry cloth before you put the pan in the
oven chamber and operate the appliance.
▪ If you fill the hot pan with liquid or fresh food to sear or braise with the lid open, fat and water
may spray heavily. Never put your hands, arms or face over the pan and never put delicate objects
next to the appliance, to avoid injury and damage. Protect your hands with oven gloves.
▪ Never heat high-proof alcoholic drinks e.g. mulled wine or food containing alcohol with the
appliance, to avoid explosion and fire hazards. The appliance is not suitable to flambé food.
▪ Caution! The appliance gets hot. Risk of scalding from steam. Do not move the 8-in-1 multi-
functional cooker when it is under pressure. Do not touch the hot surfaces. Use the handle
for this. If necessary, use gloves.
▪ This appliance is not to be used as a deep fryer. Depending on the cooking programme, only use
some tee spoons of oil for cooking.
▪ Caution! Meat cooked in the skin (e.g. poultry, tongue) can form steam bubbles because of
the effect of the pressure. Do not pierce the skin while these bubbles are visible, as you could
scald yourself.
▪ Only connect the appliance to earthed wall sockets that have been installed in accordance with the
regulations. The power cable and plug must be dry.
▪ Do not pull or clamp the connection cable over sharp edges. Do not leave it dangling. Protect it
from heat, oil and water.
▪ Only use an extension cable if it is in perfect condition.
▪ The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or a separate remote-
control system.
▪ Never pull the mains plug out of the socket by the power cord or with wet hands.
▪ Do not carry the appliance by the cable.
▪ Do not place the appliance on hot surfaces such as hotplates or near open gas flames because this
could melt the casing.
▪ Only set the appliance up on smooth, dry, heat-resistant surfaces that are dust-free.
▪ Do not place the appliance on water-sensitive surfaces. Splashes of water may damage such
surfaces.
▪ Caution: steam escapes from the appliance! Do not operate the appliance underneath sensitive
furniture (e.g. wall cupboards).
36
▪ Do not use or store the appliance outside, in damp rooms or within reach of children.
▪ The appliance must be supervised when in use.
▪ When the appliance is not being used, pull the mains plug out of the socket.
▪ Never put the appliance and mains plug in a dishwasher or clean with water. Follow the cleaning
instructions in the "Cleaning and care" section.
▪ Do not tamper with the safety systems, apart from in line with the maintenance and cleaning
instructions provided.
▪ Only use WMF original spare parts. In particular, only use pots and lids for the same model.
▪ No liability shall be accepted for any damage resulting from misuse, incorrect operation or
improper repairs. Warranty claims shall likewise be excluded in such cases.
▪ Never use your pressure cooker without adding liquid, this would seriously damage it.
▪ When cooking doughy food, gently shake the cooker before opening the lid to avoid food ejection.
▪ You must never use the appliance without the steam valve strainer fitted on the inside of the lid.
Make sure that you refit the valve strainer after cleaning the steam valve. Also carefully read the
section on "Cleaning and Care".
Using the 8-in-1multi-functional cooker
With the Lono 8-in-1 multi-functional cooker, you have acquired not just an electrical pressure
cooker, but a flexible all-rounder. It combines 8 functions in just one appliance: pressure cooking, slow
cooking, steaming, cooking rice and pulses, braising, heating, searing and preserving. The appliance
is therefore perfect for quick, healthy and varied cooking. With cooking times reduced by up to 70%,
vitamins and minerals are preserved and all the aromatic flavours of the food retained. Vital vitamins
are also not lost through overcooking. The practical keep-warm function for up to 6 hours and time-
delay cooking
for up to 12 hours provide the greatest possible flexibility.
Timer-based electronics monitor cooking times, pressure and temperatures, thereby providing optimal
safety. Intuitive controls mean preset programmes can be selected quickly and easily or adjusted to
your needs.
