6.3.3 Connecting the hand switches
You can connect the following hand switches to the "HS" connection socket of the
MultiControl II duo and MultiControl II quadro:
Have you connected a hand switch with 6 function keys and display and would like to
use a hand switch with 2 function keys?
Have you connected a hand switch with 2 function keys and would like to use a hand
switch with 6 function keys and a display?
In this case, you can simply replug the hand switch. The hand switch with 6 function
keys is automatically detected by the control.

If only one drive is connected to the control, it must always
be plugged into socket M1. Otherwise the controller will
not recognise the drive.
Only drives with the same configuration should be used for
all controls (exception: drive group management).
The E11 and E12 contouring errors may appear when using
the 3 m extension cable for drives due to the greater line
resistance (see chapter 6.10). In this case, the travel speed
must be reduced.
• Hand switch with 6 function keys and display
• Hand switch with 2 function keys
• Then remove the hand switch with 6 function keys and connect the hand
switch with 2 function keys.
• Error E38 is detected by the control and displayed by the status LED (see
chapter 6.10). Press both keys of the hand switch with 2 function keys for 5
seconds to reset the error. The control can now be controlled with the hand
switch.
• Alternatively: Unplug the power supply for the control for 30 seconds. After
restarting, you can use the hand switch with 2 function keys.
