Setting the lower stroke limit
You can configure the lower stroke limit via the "Control" → "Stroke Limit" "Set
lower stroke limit" → "Activate" menu item. When activating the lower stroke
limit, the current position of the drives is adopted as the bottom end position.
You

→ "Stroke limit" → "Set Lower stroke limit" menu item. When deactivating
the bottom lift limitation, the bottom end position determined/set during the
initialisation run is adopted again.

Safety edge
To ensure safety at crushing and shearing points, you can use an external safety
edge on the MultiControl II. Connect the external safety edge to the DATA
interface between sensor input 1 and GND (see „6.2.2 Terminal assignment").
Sensor input 1 is low-active. If the "safety edge" function is activated and the
external safety edge is actuated (GND potential is applied to sensor input 1), the
connected drives will be stopped as quickly as possible.
If the safety edge is actuated while the drives are being moved, the system can
be released in the opposite direction at a lower speed.
When the safety edge is actuated while standing still, the safety edge must be
activated again before moving.
You can activate or deactivate the external safety edge function under the
"Control" → "Stop functions" → "Safety edge" menu item. In the factory
settings, this function is deactivated. Chapter 6.5.6.14 describes additional
options for the "Safety edge" function.

If drive group management is activated (available only in
the "Premium" version, see chapter 6.5.7.5), the "Safety
edge" function only affects drives of the drive groups in
which it was activated. So if drive group management
is activated, the "Safety edge" function" for each
corresponding drive group must be separately activated.
